Please report back on their response to your questions. I would be interested
in doing something like this in Fermanagh, but have a few questions on how
they collected the data from the public. I was thinking of approaching DARD
to directly involve farmers, there might even be EU funding for t

A comment came up on IRC #osm-ie of maybe
adding .IE in that little bit of white space, would
that be doable?

Brian,
These nodes were imported as basically there was no other source at the time.
We
now have Bing and GSGS3906 to reference, both of which are extremely accurate.
I know in my part of the world the GNS Nodes are extremely inaccurate, some are
1-10km off where they should be!! My advice

Mapwarper seems to be still down and no ETA yet on
when it will be up again. Without it townlands
would be next to impossible to map,
Nice idea. Certainly a lot easier to remember the URL!
Have you any plans to develop the site? Maybe provide a way for researchers to
add a page
of information about each townland?

Colm,
It is because no-one has added those details yet. Road sections can be tagged

Hi Colm,
I appreciate that you have put in a lot of work adding these notes to OSM and
your motivation
is to help improve it. The reason a lot of us are so over-zealous is because
we have also
dedicated a lot of time and effort into improving the map from sources which
are not
prohibited.
Rory, thanks for maintaining the celtic-knot-creator.com website. I find it a
very helpful resource to have.
According to the site, 40% of the townlands in Co Fermanagh are already
mapped. From my own progress, I reckon its more like 60% due to the fact
that Lough Erne is not divided into t
Rory,
Can you make any recommendations on places
to stay in the area close by? Or if parking is
available.? It might be a better idea to stay
overnight if the plan is to go for drinks after!
