Hi,
We have a good selection of speakers set up from outside the community on
Friday for State of the map Scotland 2013 - Including International Rescue
Corps.
We would like to see if there are volunteers that would like to present info
for either the 20 minute of 10 minute sessions on the

The subject of UK speed limits and problems of mapping them has come up a
couple of times on these lists.
Firstly we have a problem because many users want a single numerical value
in the maxspeed tag, despite UK legislation having a range of speed limits
for road dependent on the physical nature

These maps are from a British Library collection, which has previously
been online in various forms, so it's not completely new - but
hopefully this is a more accessible format.
There's a total of around 2-300 of these - the exact number varies
depending on whether
Routers cannot be expected to know the intricacies of every countrys spotted
limit legislation, it would therefore be wrong to remove the default
car/motorcycle speed limits.
Vehicles to which other limits apply are usually driven by professionals and
should therefore be using specialist

I'd wager that far more cars-towing-caravans are driven by amateurs
than professionals.
