Hi,
We are now in full swing of preps for the upcoming Cavite Mapping Party.
General details:
This event will focus mapping the road network of central and southern
towns of Cavite. The objective is to connect all town centers and add
priority POIs covered by the route. This will be a car-centric
Let me know what you need. Mapsource and OSM-PH maps are useful for
planning some the exiting routes.

I volunteer to be the "map" coordinator. (Unless there are other people who
have more skill in this area; paging the GIS professionals!) The job is to
be in charge of planning the routes. For this we would need maps of Cavite
in order to do research and take an inventory of the main/secondary roads
Some orgs we can collaborate with:
1. local bike/cycling clubs (I'm sure there is one in Cavite)
2. car clubs (we have contacts with subaru and bmw)
3. local tourism offices

Ok. I agree that it would be good to coordinate with the Provincial
government. Hopefully we could get some sponsors and volunteers.
I suggest that we have posters or any material that can drum up support and
interest for the activity and OSM in general. Perhaps as early as June? Or
is it
I have created the OSM Wiki announcement page:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Cavite_Road_Network_Mapping_Party
And the Planning page:

Read the planning page and see if you can help with anything! :-)

For meeting places in the morning in Alabang, how about
- 2nd Floor Starbucks Madrigal
or
- Jollibee / Chowking Madrigal
from there Daang Hari and SLEX are all nearby.
Meeting place in Tagaytay we should pick some place with electrical
sockets, Starbucks last year was plugless and too crowded
How bout navigation systems that use OSM, arent there a few? Perhaps
they would like to support us in mapping the Cavite Area etc? We will
probably be incorporated by this time also.
How bout the guy from the Marikina Mapping party who did security for
truck shipments, maybe there are interested
@ sorbi,
We can prepare a letter on the planned Cavite mapping and you can help
us disseminate through your MPDO contacts. Would be good if we can
coordinate with the Province as well.
Hope election fever is over.

Hi! I'm from Cavite and do have some contacts in some LGU's. We could
coordinate with their Municipal Planning Offices and probably encourage
local volunteers at the same time. =)

We have 23 towns/cities to cover, most are routable already from
Intramuros. The link below is my town_routing spreadsheet. Don't
follow the yournavigation link, the service is broken for more than
two weeks already.

As decided in the Ortigas-Mandaluyong Mapping Party and proposed in the OSM
Wiki[1], the next Mapping Party will be to retrace all of the major roads
connecting the cities and municipalities of Cavite. This email is for
kicking off the planning for this party. Roadtrip/joyride na ito! :-D
