There's several in Oklahoma, usually on divided boulevards at intersections
with apartments and minor residential roads, though there's a few in

I believe I recall seeing that Kansas already has erected USBR 66 signs.
I'm down to map any segment west of Joplin (I'm familiar with US 66 up to
that point).

Would it be possible to turn this around and have ACA members that

Paul,
No, KS has not even engaged in defining a route for USBR 66 (though it would
be a very short segment across the SE corner of the state). I'm collecting
all the responses and will get everyone up to speed once the list of mappers
is stable. I'll keep you posted.

Yes, another ringing endorsement for Battlegrid. I used it quite a bit at
yesterday's DC #editathon. It's very helpful in finding alignment needles
in haystacks of TIGER/OSM data.
Also, thanks to Mele for pulling together a great #editathon how-to. Lots
of good stuff there.

Martijn,
In many cases Adventure Cycling members do not know these routes. USBRs are
developed by the states and do not always follow existing Adventure Cycling
routes for various reasons. In addition the Adventure Cycling route network is

Hey Kerry - thanks for clarifying and for bearing with me as I learn

250,000 miles. Wow. That is a very impressive number.
No Utah routes? :) If there are, I'd be more than happy to lend a hand.

There is interest in the U.S. Bicycle Route System with momentum

We've been trying to get Utah to the table but nothing yet. Perhaps with NV
committed to bringing USBR 50 to the UT border that will trigger some action
but that is in the future. We can only work on projects where the states are
engaged.

All true Mike, but that has not translated into a commitment by KS to work
towards route designation. Without that commitment we don't have a basis to
do anything.

OK let me know if I can help, I know a few bike folks at the local
government here and some folks at UDOT I could ask.

Martijn,
It never hurts to have advocates asking the DOT when they are going to get on
board. Feel free to raise the subject and get me involved if appropriate.
