They seem to be related to water ways. They're more evident in Osmarender and Cycle Map. Here's an example in Virginia: http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=36.7445lon=-80.9081zoom=14layers=0B00FTF I'd like to fix them as I come across them, but don't know what to do. -- Lee
