I live close to Loftus Versveld in Pretoria, I will be happy to improve the

What is needed? (The current map shows the stadium)
Does anyone have some idea where parking will be available? I have been

So Nic it seems like we are the only 2 in Gauteng, any other takers?
Nobody else keen to come say hello?
I would assume we need a laptop running the tileserver so we can at least
demo the maps.

I am sure it will be very useful!
Did you tag them with the tag South_Africa?
If not you can always add the tag afterwards
Here is the list of recently uploaded traces (tagged with South_Africa)

Yes it is true, there was an article a while ago

If we cannot convince government to share, we will just have to make
sure our data is better
In the past I helped out at the GLUG stand, but this year I will be at OSM.
Nic I will see you there!

Hi all
Over the last 18 months the maps improved rapidly, I even convinced
colleagues at work to join the effort.
Generally speaking, people look at any project and look for progress,
if they cannot see any recent changes they tend not to contribute.

Hi everyone
I was wondering, a website like gpsed makes all tracks available, everyone
can download the gpx tracks
please see link below for an example (I chose a random track someone drove)

I had a look to see if there was any copyright on the data a
I also agree that the tagging standards does not make lots of sense
I would rather tag and use the speed limit as a guide.
In urban areas I would also consider the amount of traffic carried by the
specific road as a factor.
The suggestions made by Paul seems a lot more sensible than the current

Hi,
Since most roads are dirt roads in Namibia, it looks very empty looking at
the map, most of these dirt roads are well maintained and locals frequently
drive 100km/h and even 120km/h
Would it not be better to re-classify them as primary/secondary roads but
add a note, untarred, or is this an i

Hi, my gps had 4 tracklogs full, that I saved on my gps, and then
downloaded to my PC (with waypointmanager) and saved to a single file,
maybe I lost some of the points in this process. I should check.
2000 points seem a bit few.
Looks a lot more detailed on my GPS (all tracks are still there)
An
guess soon people can start taggin the data

about 7000km worth of tracks.
I tried uploading the gpx file to the

How do I go about adding this data?

Hi fellow mappers,
I am planning a trip to namibia & Botswana ( lasting about 3 weeks) and
would like to contribute the tracks back to osm.
I need to buy myself a GPS but I am lost as to what to choose. From what I
read Garmin is the way to go.
My requirements.
I need to install tracks4africa.
