What do you folks recommend in the way of a case? Here in Missouri.. winter is tough on instruments and maintaining humidity. What manufacturers get your endorsement? Thanks. --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google

My favorite case for max protection of the instrument is the Pegasus. Though expensive, they are the best design I have seen. A Calton broke the peghead scroll off my F5 Gilchrist, so if you get one, beware of the peghead fit. The Calton works fine for my A2, no peghead issues there. For humidi

I have a Calton and a Price that are both excellent. I also dig the Pegasus cases. To humidify, I use one of these little cigar humidifiers that work great for my mando and my cigars. http://www.drymistat.com That said, I wouldn't mind my case smelling like an apple! And since a fresh one is req

Thanks for the reply. I hadn't thought about the financial/logistical aspect of it. Although, when I see photos of uprights strapped on top of cars, it makes me wonder about the abuse those things must have taken back then. I had read about the cello being a prominent instrument prior to the ba

I'm in agreement about the Caltons. While I do use one for my Gil F5, the problem of the curl (now, the reglued curl) breaking off is very real if the case takes a blow on that side. And, never, ever buy one of the English versions of the Calton. They're thinner and the handle is on whop-sided and

They may not be in the league of cases you guys are talking about, but I like the standard Weber case. It isn't fiberglass or space age materials, but it is padded well and hold the mandolin securely. -Original Message- From: taterbugmando@googlegroups.com [mailto:taterbugma...@googlegrou
