On Sat. the 11th my neighbor and fellow mando picker dropped off a
homemade recording of the two of us and his wife on bass pickin' a few
tunes. Scars and all it was fun to here myself play. We recorded
Billy in the Low Ground, Old Virginia Waltz, All of Me, and Waltz for
Bill Monroe. It's funn
Hey Val- take a chord book along and some unusual progressions. Learn
the chords and where the arpeggios (broken chords) lay. This always
enlightens me and breaks open new territories. Get all those bluesy
sixths and dominant sevenths sewn up. Desert islands make one focus.

Transcribe a few tunes for students for next week. Tonight playing a
Jazz gig at a local dining establishment. Practice stuff from my
(piano) teacher. Bluegrass band practice tomorrow for gigs in
November. Just the usual weekend around here...

Take the Bear Box set of Bill Monroe, 1969-1979. It's got a lot of great
instrumental tunes. That will keep you busy.
