The purpose of Address Search

Hello Beta-Bats, I must be doing something wrong, but what is the purpose of this thing? Searching for messages in which a selected address is involved results in a popup-bo searching and telling how many there are (sometimes it's hidden behind TB!). And that's it. I don't see any one of the
