the backup without backing up attachments, just to make sure
there is no broken attachment link. So I guess there are some more
errors somewhere in the message base, but how do I find or solve them?

But I agree with you that the delay should be customizable (it is not
at the moment AFAIK).
Another idea would be to open the folder immediately when clicking
with the right mouse-button (or beeing able to use the normal +/-
with the right button).

(in case of the handle being inserted in "Cc:", both types would go in
there.

"Use PGP/MIME when sending email" under
preferences/email. It seems that my PGP CAN do MIME, but either TB! itself
isn't capable of PGP/MIME, or the support of the plugin doesn't work.
No matter what it is: put it on the wishlist!
