Just for those who wish to preserve those extra spaces after periods.
Though Alt-L will remove them when reflowing text, Autoformat will
not. Toggle on auto-format and try it, i.e., CTRL+Shift+F.
The thing with autoformat is that it will reflow to perfection any
text that isn't

That works OK, but will still remove spaces if you edit a paragraph

+Ctrl+F key combination to dynamically

lists and column formatted text in amongst the formatted

is it not possible to use this feature without the constraint of
double carriage return to start a new phrase then a point, as:
bla bla bla.
bla bla bla...
and not as:
bla bla bla.
Bla bla bla...
In a lot of times it is very bad to view.

I can reproduce this as well, the only workaround is to either switch
off auto-format while you do the lines or to keep pressing Enter a
couple of times.
