Are you viewing the pictures with Internet Explorer 6 ?
If you are it sounds like you need to disable the Automatic
Image Resizing and/or the Image toolbar
(From your Control Panel, go to Internet Options, then click
the Advanced Tab and look for those two settings.)

Actually I didn't use Outlook long enough to build up any
folders and contacts. So I just started back with the bat.
Outlook and Outlook Express would crash every time I got
Spam that had a bunch of those weird looking characters in
it.
