I don't see much of a "flight from" certification as much as a lack of a "flight to" it. Assuming that a college degree isn't considered a "certification," I've never had a job or potential job, either as a candidate or a hiring manager, where having or not having a certification made any differen

Don't forget botched surgeries, too. Certification is only as good as the person using it. Which is why I mentioned accountability. Those able to hold certified folks accountable either have some knowledge about the certification or are certified themselves. Otherwise it's just another game of "I
