Gnome 3 fails to load. System is an Nvidia GTX 460 SE

On restart, the live Linux should eject the disc,

The last update to Fedora 14 has broken my server's ability
to mount cifs shares:
mount error(12): Cannot allocate memory
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)

Apparently if I install the telnet server and inet,
then enable telnet server before any updates,
the telnet server works.
After the update, system>admin>services cannot
tell what the telnet server is up to, but the telnet
server remain operational.

I suspect the Fedora library containing the PCRC32 routine has had
a flag day or some other breakage.
Pan is an important program given its status as the only
good Usenet newsreader available for Fedora.

The annoying habit of turning off the network on boot
is still with us. Talk about something to chase away
novices..
Now to see if I can install the ATI driver to get a
desktop as nice to use as Ubuntu.

This is the first time I've tried a Fedora 14 Live CD.
I then downloaded the Aug 11 386 install DVD. It
took two tries as the first download failed the
checksum. The incompatibility
with the HD5670 is unchanged, only now it takes a
long time to get to that point.

Normal startup of the 386 DVD results in a blank screen.
Starting with VESA driver gets to unhandled exceptions
in the hard drive setup. First try was with OpenSUSE
installed. Second try was after the partition table had
been zeroed out with fdisk.
