misunderstood something, it is the official recommendation of
MiKTeX:
(1) create a subfolder 'localmiktex' in which to put all
your personal files -- in our case that means all

My used solution for (3) is as follows:
I have two TeX directories. The first is the normal MikTeX installation
directory "c:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.8", the second one is my personal
"d:\\localtexmf". The structure below this
second directory is respectively can be the same as in "nor

The basic question here is how to avoid reinstalling MusiXTeX if you upgrade
your TeX system. Suppose you are using Windoze and MiKTeX
