Last night several of us met with the Forest Service to discuss the
decontamination protocols that will be required after October 2nd to enter any
cave or mineshaft on FS property. The procedures discussed were basically the
same ones that we have been following to date. A few thing
I think that must be Cueva de Taninul no. 2, which is
described in AMCS Bulletin 1 (Caves of the Inter American Highway) as
having "an 8-foot-wide slot in the floor that must be bridged to
continue exploration." The descriptions of the other Taninul caves
do not mention any pits.
