In defense of Kiwi Cave, the small underground passage began to form
naturally probably a hundred thousand years ago. The breakdown in the cave
passage is typical. Sometime a few thousand years ago, the roof of a tiny
room in the cave opened up allowing fill to wash in. Then it collapsed.
