Hi all,
This year's Survey Contest involved an about 110 meter long loop of
eight stations to be surveyed with Suuntos and tape. The course included
going through a flood water culvert, dealing with a survey shot that was
longer than the provided survey tape, and a station located on a steel
will not be available via Periscope due to
conservation-related concerns.
Cheers,

Congratulations to this year's TSS Survey Contest winners!
We had a challenging course this year at the Texas Cavers Reunion, and
three teams decided to take it on. Aubri Jenson (assisted by Dale
Barnard) made the first place, with a loop closure error of 1.88 meters,
winning a set of Suunto
Meters. As Allan pointed out, those are meters (below). 0.20 meters = 20
centimeters. ;-)
About time somebody teaches me the metric system.
Cheers,
David

All,
We had another successful survey contest at this year's TCR. While only
three teams entered the competition, the average quality of their
surveys by far exceeded previous years. (Maybe it helped that there was
less metal around this year? ;-))
The winners are:
1. Galen Falgout and Dale

Hey folks,
DJ and team are putting on a week-long Level 1 and 2 NCRC training at
Colorado Bend in January again. This is a great opportunity to learn
skills that come in handy in a variety of situations, as well as to meet
some awesome people. Many Texas cavers have gone through NCRC training,
, where do you want participants to assemble?

The UT Grotto, as far as I can speak for it, deals with this by not

Well, Petzl also has quality controls in place that make sure that
