Fissure 8 ( as it has been called for the passed 2 months ) is now a very
active volcano in its own majesty. USGS or somebody will have to
rename it
soon.I have seen people referring to it as Leilani Cone or Leilani
Volcano.It will be slightly bigger tomorrow and each day as long as

It appears to have 2 entrances and an upstream section of at least a few
feet. Also the other fork of the fountain
is pooling forming a shelter cave.
If
I have spotted a new lava cave that formed today ( or in the past few weeks
/ ) about 100 feet downstream from Fissure 8.
It looks like it is about 20 feet in diameter and about 50 feet long with a
slow thick current of lava flowing
through it.
I am going to name this lava cave.
