If your goal is to learn the basics of TW - which I highly recommend you do

Of course you will also lose any plugins or other system-level content, but
that maybe what you want.
As I build a new TW design I use tags (all my TWs use taggly tags anyway)
so that every non
One can use Eric's plugin for exporting the tiddlers along with core code
into a new tiddlywiki document.

Just select one random tiddler and export it to a new TW and then later
delete that one tiddler after opening the new TW.

Is there a simple way to clean out an existing TiddlyWiki and take it
back to an "empty" state? This is in place of locating an older
version of an empty TiddlyWiki.

I believe I got it working in Chrome now after setting up a
SystemSettings tiddler and putting a switch on Chrome.exe.
(and of course after more googling)
Still looking for an IE solution as I have to use that for work.
This is all more complex than it needs to be.

This worked great for me too using Chrome. My settings wouldn't
stick.
They do now by adding this tiddler as he described.
Thanks.

I see the same problem on hosted wiki http://tiddlywiki.com/ ( I can
send window image)
New empty wiki with problem is

new Date("October 6, 2011"), extensions: {}};

I get the same timeline error in XP on IE.
I'm new to TiddlyWiki's but find it fascinating. Anyway, trying to
get started I'm already running into errors. Being new doesn't help
with the terminology or searching either. I would think, starting
out, not wanting to change anything to start with, things should
work...but..
I'm on Win7 6.1.

Yes, that is correct. TiddlyWiki5 will run in the browser (meaning
desktop and mobile) and under node.js (which either means running
locally on your machine, or running on a server somewhere).

This would be very interesting. I think the important thing here is
that it could be distribution of individual tiddlers _not_ of
TiddlyWiki documents. Then

"tribler" provides peer-to-peer torrents for direct distribution of
files without central servers. This could be used to share TW
documents.
