Hi
It's an early Warner resonator so stress is an issue. It is drifting in the
right direction. I am also worried that the tuning coil may be tough to
replace. I've seen them get pretty fragile after baking for years and years.
Wait and see sounds like a good plan.
Thanks

What's the current thinking on saving the survey position on a z3805? Each time

Is there a simple do these three things recipe to get it saved to eeprom?
It's not a real big deal since they take quite a while to
Hello. Does anyone have any of these left? I've checked with a couple of
the guys that did a group buy but they are out of them. I'd prefer not to
do SMT and don't really want to buy 50+ from an unknown surplus seller.
I need six (6) - or at least one or whatever someone has to get me
Hi
At least at this point the surplus dealer has been checked out by others buying
the parts from him.
You might find there's enough interest to make another buy worthwhile.

Hi
Does that save it to eeprom?
I'm happy with the result of the survey, so a single command to save it may be
all that's needed.

Depends on what he wants to do. If he wants to write his own apps for the
counter (or use mine) the Prologix controller will work fine. You talk to
it with generic COM port code rather than a proprietary API.
If he wants to run existing commercial software like Labview he is likely

The good old Iotech RS-232 to 488 converters will drive a counter 5335 counter

I have the Ethernet version. They're nice for quick and dirty stuff and the
USB / Ethernet versions can be used on laptops (Ethernet can be used on any
computer that can telnet across the wire). You get to write your own

Haunting hamfests and looking for PC's with GPIB connectors sticking out the

As mentioned earlier you do run the risk of winding up with a (very much) not

Hi
That's the nice thing about an Iotech. It will take a continuos reading stream
on the counter and convert it to RS-232 without much active intervention. Been
a long time since I've done that though. I seem to mostly use GPIB-TNT's these
days.

surprised by that.

You can't copyright an instruction set. Any patent protection NI may
have had would have expired long ago. There is nothing preventing anyone
that is willing to go to the development effort from making a NI clone, and
several companies existed doing just that.
