Don't use the PC power supply... get a cheap, old-ish laptop that supports
optical drives with a 12V motor. Wire the Tbolt into the optical drive/rs-232
power supplies (remove the optical drive, filter power signals to taste).
Voila... battery backed up Tbolt with permanent monitor screen.

It seems to me that an ordinary PC power supply outputs +12, -12 and +5 Volt.
Has someone in the list used one of those to feed the Thunderbolt?

figured I could use the PS for something else. My goal is to
have something like
120V -> 12/24V DC -> Battery -> Converter -> TBolt
