Using log4j with Tomcat 4.0.2

Using log4j for logging under Tomcat 4.0.2, the Category initialization does not seem to work. I'm making an attempt to direct logging to my log configuration file, but the output seems to be getting redirected to catalina.out. Any ideas on how to fix this?    Thanks,             -- Art
