Of course, an RPM is not necessary here - I'll settle for a build.
These seem to be missing from the builds/jakarta-tomcat-connectors
directory, although there are encouraging messages about how the empty
places will soon be filled. Are we talking days or weeks for this?

CATALINA_HOME by default. This doesn't seem to make sense. What is the
rationale for this?

The `MD5' may be replaced by another supported algorithm (only MD2 or
SHA, I think), and you may provide one or more plaintext passwords to be

to put a symlink to that jar file in the $TOMCAT_HOME/lib/container

Looking in container/tomcat_util.jar, I see
org/apache/tomcat/util/qlog/Logger.class, but no log/Logger.class. Is this the
problem? If so, how do I fix it (being new to java)?

seems to work, and I suppose that it then makes sense that I seem to
have problems if I just stop and restart tomcat while apache (httpd) is
still running. Is this to be expected? What if I stop and restart
httpd while tomcat is running? Should I expect problems?
