I am trying to use tomcat as a standalone container for
testing and learning
purposes. I have installed version 4.0 on Windows 2000, but
I keep getting
an error on starting up Tomcat. The error is attached below. I tried

Please help if you can understand what the problem
This is an old message but an important issue.
The kind of problem mentioned below will occur if you have an old version
of servlet.jar in your Java extensions directory
($JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ext) or if you've modified the standard Tomcat 4
startup files or overall directory organization.
