I don't think that mod_jk keeps any settings compiled-in, so you should
be okay. Just to be extra-sure, you should compile it on a machine which

What varients of automake/cc/make are you using? Was apache complied with
sun's cc/make/automake and you are using GNU's?

My advice: don't even deal with ant.
CONNECTOR_HOME = place where you put connector source
- cd CONNECTOR_HOME/jk/native. Be sure to READ the file named BUILDING.
- run the buildconf script: ./buildconf.sh
- you may see some error messages about aclocal and autom4te...these can be
ignored.

I think you need mod_jk for freebsd, because mod_jk.so will been loaded by
Apache, but not Tomcat.
I finally get mod_jk for Apache 2.0 from Tomcat-Connector-4.0.4-b2-src on
Solaris 7 platform bu

apxs requires perl. You must have perl installed prior to installation

Peter,
You can use mod_jk with Tomcat3 or Tomcat4. I found it terribly hard to
compile it on Solaris 8 (sparc), so I downloaded the binary and it works
just fine for me. I'm connecting with Apache.

Hi,
I think that mod_jk is included within the connectors
package (jakarta-tomcat-connectors-4.0.2-01-src.tar.gz for
instance), so you should try to get it from there.
Hope it helps,

I
don't know if this is helpful...but on my system dlfcn.h is in
/usr/include. On my system it appears to be a support header file for the
compiler/linker that defines some dynamic loading symbol routines and parameters
for them. My platform is IBM AIX.
Hi,
I get the same problem. Can anyone help us on this??
I've also tried to do "gcc -shared -o mod_jk.so *.o".
I believe that this was from an earlier posting
by Dave Newton.
This however gave a different type of problem.
Please help.
Thanks,
