I agree completely. Here is my story of trying this. Maybe this will
help if anyone has the same problem. I did this with one low signal
level receiving ante
Hi Mark,
It can be very challenging to reduce common mode adequately to preserve
the directivity of low signal level antennas such as the YCCC 9 circle.
My preferred approach is to bury all cables interconnecting the amplifiers
at the base of each vertical and the phasing combiner/controller,
Welcome K1WHS. DX seems to come in along the SE coast better than out
here in Ohio, despite the QRN.
But VK6LW was solid this morning for about 30 -35 mins this morn. In
the past Ive noticed spurts of Pacific/Asia DX come in well during
Oct. So now that my ears are open around SR Ohio time again
Wow! All this juicy DX makes me want to steal the exciter out of my
remote VHF shack and bring it back to the house so I can get in on some
160 meter fun! I have rigs set up on 6, 2, and 222 MHz. The 160 rig
ended up on 2 meters for the summer. I miss the DX on 160!
I have been out in the wo
Hello Joe. Forgive my typo. It was VK6LW. I heard you work Kevin! You
had good sigs up here. And congrats for working nearly half way around
the world with your 100w. Thats over 100 miles per watt! :)
Im running 900w to a 52 ft tall qtr wave Inv-L with 26 radials (
between 45 and 130 ft long. ( du
I worked VK6LW with 100 watts at 11:33 Z this morning. He was peaking nicely
here at SC sunrise. WOW, that was fun !
I'm in the process of putting up antennas for 160 at my South Carolina QTH.
Inverted L with apex at 50 feet with 14 longish (75-100 feet) radials so far.
No RX antennas yet
(typo) VK6LW Kevin came in this morning from -1145z a very solid
559 peaking 569 here in central Ohio. Worked him on first call. Looked
like he was getting takers at a slow but fairly steady rate.
FWIW SR hr in central OH was 1130z. So Kevin was good copy for about
15-20 mins before and after
worked Kevin on first call, simplex. He was in there pretty well from
-1145z, although qsb at times took him into the noise, here in
central Ohio.
Our Twilight-SR times today were 7:03 local- 7:30 local. or
1103-1130z.
A second VK6 was spotted but I never heard him.
But those SR tables real
