FWIW - 160 has been a huge challenge for me and whether my equipment/antennas came out of a box or required considerable effort to assemble is no matter. However you get on 160 success requires lots of dedication and time in front of the rig to catch that 2 minute opening to snag a new one.

Same thing happened to me with the T88 a few years back. Sat in front of the radio for hours for seven days listening to nothing but static. On the very last day for less than a minute, they came out of the noise and I made the contact. It was one of the most exciting things in ham radio!
