Hi Roger,
On this last day on January you are the only European that had signal
enough to hear and work.Propagation very poor but we had a good QSO.

It is likely RF traveling into the amp via multiple wires, cables.
Recommend you put RFI cores on the coax between the radio and amp, and
on the antenna coax near the amp.

Some of it is high ground penetration on low frequencies. Dipole
height above 'real conducting' ground can be a lot in some locations

There was a VY0 calling CQ on 1826.5 last evening. Looked it up as an
afterthought and its very far north in Canada. Unfortunately he did
not get any callers.

This happens due new low band DXers trying to apply Beverage antenna
info. Then asking for assistance.
Harold Beverage first had a low wire over by Otter Creek Maine, but
it was high up on the rocks well above the Beach/salt water..(minimum
earth to wire capacitance for the frequency)

tick problems were zero.
Puts the fun back in working on Beverage antennas again.

Hi Pete,
I think a ground rod is better, not all will agree. With a rod you do
not have to worry so much about the wires. ( animals chewing, etc)

The reason to use a series capacitor is to electrically lengthen the
antenna wire, driving the high current point up the vertical section,
for more efficiency. The capacitor electrically shortened the antenna
to the 160 meter band.. With the right amount added wire and capacitor

Hi All,
A friend
In the past we have chased second harmonic interference problems on
1820 KHZ.Eventually broadcasters have cleared problems. It's in the
best interest of everyone to keep the band clear as possible.
Jorge, you may eventually need to contact your government licensing
office.

My two cents worth. I'm getting tired of the subject also. But I do
not see it as human to human as an operator can go away while the
device is still going. If he expires, the FT-8 could go on. If the
ARRL did not feel right calling him/it a silent key, they could list
it as a silent call sign. (
Hi Al,
Glad to make the contact with you. many are complaining about the band
being dead, but I am very close to salt water and that helps a lot.
Happy to QSL

RF parts was out of the VHC1 12V vacuum relays.. Tried the VHC3- 12V

received tested pulling with a 9 volt battery and it was fast. Very
dependable with 12 volts DC.
