As Mike mentioned, one of the sample models is "Vhfgp.ez". Take a look at the
source placement in that one and you'll see there is no break between the
vertical and the (sloped) radials. Or take a look at sample "Bydipole.ez".
Again, no physical break in the wire.

For those who don't know, Dan McGuire AC6LA, is about to release an
seriously updated version of MultiNEC which he calls AUTOEZ and it works
with late versions of EZNEC 5.
AutoEZ is now available, see http://ac6la.com/autoez.html

loaded with ice every winter, I've never noticed this wire stretching in
4 years of use. Takes full power easily.
3) I have no experience with a Spiderbeam.
4) My Inverted L is fed direct from 50-ohm 7/8 hardline - no matching
network whatsoever. 1:3 minimum SWR at resonance.

Sad news.

Richard Fry, you know anything about this? A 5:1 change in soil seems way
out of line with what I recall from fields at WSPD on 1370 kHz and WOHO on
1470 kHz. Were those stations exceptions?
I don't know about further out where you'd have to proof an AM station
but I just ran some models and
Four elevated radials had less than 40 ohms feed resistance. About a dozen
buried radials had around 60 ohms base resistance.
Field strength was identical despite the resistance difference with the same
length resonant radiator.
Is it right that this was with radials significantly longer
