I apologize to those folks calling me on Topband during the contest. The noise
level was very high. No receive antennas on a very small lot. And the back
scrub area where we would string up a beverage had just been cleared.Only 25

I may have been dreaming, but I thought someone came up with a newer combiner
that included chokes right on the circuit board instead of making external
chokes. I have had no luck so far doing searches. Does this ring a bell with

I have an 80' Rohn 45 tower that I shunt feed. At 85' there is a SteppIR

antenna has a dramatic effect on 160M with SWR.
I have side mounted antennas at 45' and 50'.

Hi Mark,
Both of my BOGS are right on the ground. One works fine. I was referring to the
signal level being low. I swapped boxes just to very it was only the feedbox.
It is only the feedbox.
Just surprised why all the tiny pieces and yet the primary and secondary #30
wires are fine.

I use BN-73-202 cores for my receive antennas - Pennants, BOGs.
Finally getting time to check out my receive antennas. One BOG was very low.
The BOG transformer was broken. I mean it was totally destroyed. The largest
piece was 1/8" long. The primary and secondary wires, #30 were intact and

I shunt feed my tower on 160M. The feed is about 4' above the base of the

all underground to the base of the tower. The shield of the coax and the

I am making up new boxes for my Pennants. I will be switching directions
with a relay in the box besides the terminating resistor and the choke.
My question is what are the correct values of the components for feeding the
12V? I will be using this only on 160 and 80M.

Has anyone had experience with this system and have done a comparison to
other receive antennas? I have room to put up a BOG about 200' long at a
right angle and about 100' away from my present BOG. But it would be
difficult to get the feedline to either end of the wire. This system looks

Gary,
Thanks for the tip on the Permethrin to get it in large containers at an
affordable price. Looks like dilution is about 1:120. One 1.25 gal should
give me one coverage. But can't be shipped to NY. Need to ship to a buddy in
NJ or PA.
