It's not friendly... I unplug power at night and I want to listen next

I was about to put mine on eBay - too many SB's, an don't want to wait
for the NPR bug to get fixed. PM me if interested.

I am using a self powered 1.5 Tb LaCie d2 Quadra HDD (formatted in FAT32
with Disk Utility on a Mac), containing around 450 Gb of Flac files
(approx. 1500 albums / 25000 songs).
AFAIC, with Tiny SC, when reading 16/44.1 files, I find the navigation

I'd be inclined to uninstall 7.6 and use 7.5.2 You didn't mention your
network setip. If you are using a wireless router and modem then unplug
the power from your Touch, modem and router and leave it unplugged for a
minute or so. Then reconnect the power and go through the setup process
again.
Think you are fine with SBS 7.6. The Touch is trying to log into
MySB.com so it can update to the newest Firmware.
Have a go at this. Try doing a back swipe to get off the spinny screen.
Then press and hold down the Back/Left Button until it drops back to the
Home Screen. Then goto
I have had incredible issues with my Touch when my external hard drive
is directly connected to the Touch. My Touch is hard-wired to my
internet. Last night, I attached my hard drive to my laptop and ran
the server through my laptop (wireless). Worked beautifully.
Squeezeplay worked

able to control the Touch remotely using my laptop (and

Sorry I missed this but what is the NPR bug? I did a quick search and
found mention of National Public Radio but people were saying it

Agreed. The requirement to update firmware on first connect is a serious
usability fail from Logitech, in my view.
R.
Can't really put it into words how strongly I feel about this subject.
It has killed two of the Commercial applications I had worked on for
months
Why do you unplug the power? The touch uses very little power. I
completely understand wanting to reduce ones power usage but unplugging
a device like the touch every night is not really saving much power at
all. The touch uses ~5W with drive connected. So 365days * 24hours *
5W = ~44kWH .

As expected, it took several tries to get a good enough wireless

Thank's for the comment !
I considered aluminum enclosure because it's easy to drill and to grind

electromagnetic disturbances.

The one thing you CAN'T do is have the flacs under a directory called

other non music files. The scanner will look at ALL files on the disk,
you cannot tell it just look at the files under music.

Hi all, wondering if it would work OK if those 'other' files are
non-music, non-image (non-jpg, etc) types?
My external drive (only have one) is sort of a back up drive as well.
Along with my music it's got some DVD rips, program installers
(.exe's), text files,

It may be all right it may not. It depends on how the scanner classifies
the file types. I tried a drive with a backup on it and it took an hour

going to do a scan of the whole disk every time
So the question is, am I hurting the beautiful screen on my touch using
it as an expensive clock (it looks so nice under the TV) when it's
turned off or not?
Anyone? Anyone?
