Just loaded Version: 7.6.0 - r31585 on XP to compliment my brand new
Touch.
On the Touch, selected New Music, Selected an album and all the tracks
displayed.
Long touch on a track brought up a display that showed details of the
track and the last item in the display was "Create MusicIP Mix". Touch

Indeed, I connect my SBT via the analog outputs directly to an
amplifier.
So lets see whats going on after several days: Ill let you know.

If the Touch has been completely powered down, then yes, it scans the
attached disk drive or SD card when started up. If you keep power
supplied
That's unfortunate - I don't like leaving things on in standby when I'm
not using them. (presumably the drive also has to stay on?) Is there no
way to disable this automatic rescan? (I mean, you know when you've
added tracks right?!)

Do the RCA outputs need to be loaded in order for "burn in" to occur?
I currently only have the headphone jack connected, on my relatively
new Touch.

Well, regarding the usability of the built-in server, "try it!" :D
Based on what I've read about people struggling with TinySBS (the
built-in version of the server on the Touch), it's generally not very
good (yet?). Whatever you do, don't let fuzzing about with the internal
server get in your way
I'm mentioned this is all these threads, but I do agree with the "TRY
IT" idea. My brother is using the "tiny SbS" with an attached USB drive
holding about 50,000 mp3 files (most with embedded artwork) and it works
very well. The TOUCH is wifi connected and he also has a BOOM (wifi)

Unlike either of the 3 older Squeezeboxes I own, the new Touch continues
to show the track information and cover artwork and progress bar of the
tune playing when Squeezebox Server is shut down.

Well, I've continued to work on this project without much luck.
The same song I play through the Touch which has the "ticking" sounds,
plays perfectly when I output it from my netbook through my HRT
Streamer II+.
I was looking at Squeezeplay but it appears not to be bit perfect.
And Squeezeslav
Squeezeslave doesn't need a UI. You can use the web UI, SqueezePlay, a
Touch, a Controller, a Radion, iPeng etc to control the playback of
Squeezeslave.

Is that true?
I'm looking for at least 24/96 playback ability.
