The Touch has never been connected wirelessly. I note that my router is
seeing the touch as having an IP address assigned by DHCP, rather than
a fixed IP address, and I wonder whether that is causing the problem,
or a sign of the problem? My SB3 shows a fixed IP address.

Mine asked to update yesterday. I assumed it was part of the planned
upgrade of all SBSs. But MySB.com and the Windows versions of SBS have
still not upgraded and now I'm getting prompts to upgrade whenever i
connect the Touch to the local servers.
Not a big deal, if the others all upgrade

Yes, i am aware it's supposed to be on its way. Just surprised the Touch
has updated (24 hours ago) but not the others.

The IP address for my router is 192.168.1.64.
My router tells me that the Touch has a dynamically allocated IP
address. How would i assign a static address during setup? Surely a
factory reset would confirm this?

That was an update to the firmware for the 7.5.3 branch to fix a
particular bug with navigation on the Controller, that could

My Touch got a firmware update earlier this week. Since then it -seems-
like this issue might be fixed. Possibly a bit early to be sure but it
looks possible.

Slow down... it's too confusing!
1) Why is the IP
Last night I downloaded the 7.5.4 r32171 for the SBS but in trying to
update firmware on my Touchs, the living room only went to 7.5.3, I
forget the r number. I wanted to listen to the bedroom system so I
waited on updating the firmware on it.
This AM I updated both Touches to firmware 7.5.4
I have downloaded the new Android app, but am having issues. My Touch is
working fine streaming from library and all internet apps. However, I
can't use the Android app as it says a player is not connected. When I
log into Mysqueezebox.com, it shows my player as not connected. Running
7.5.4 on
On Android App try going to Settings Choose Player, select Touch
Or it could be your Android is connected to MySB while your Touch is
connected to SBS on your computer.
On the Android try selecting My Music, see if it offers a switch to
your SBS server. If no go, try Switch Libraries.

Three questions:
1. Is it possible to install previous firmware versions on the Touch?
2. If so, can someone please point me to the instructions for doing so?
3. Once a previous firmware version is installed, how do you refuse
future firmware updates?

1) Yes
2) not sure where there are directions, but it's pretty simple. As I
recall it goes like this:
- download desired firmware from
http://update.slimdevices.com/update/firmware/ . You want the file
fab4*.bin. Don't use a brain-dead browser that will rename the file
without asking.
- put the
I have just installed a new modem/router call FritzBox 7390 (this has
an in-built NAS, allegedly uNpN A/V compatible) and find that the
SBTouch just cannot see it on the network. The Touch can see the other
two computers and also a VortexBox. But I want to access music files
through the Touch
Thank you!

i had the same problem. Cause was the loss of the network connection
after squezzeserver was started. My server runs on Ubuntu and I had to
submit the command service squeezeboxserver restart from the console.
I did this restart too and it has helped with this problem.
I've experienced this as well and added a host entry to resolve
mysqueezebox.com and then later erased it. There is a short period of
time when SBS can't seem to to query DNS. I have never figured out
exactly what was going on but the host entry got it working.
