New info: when connecting to a server directly, without my wireless route/firewall in between, it works. So there is no firewall issue on the linux server. The router is a Linksys WRT 54G V2 with Svaesoft Alchemy v1.0. This seems to be the problem since it is known to not forwarding port 9000

another tip is to organise music like one folder per album /artist/album/track . it is never a good idea to have one folder with 25k files in it . 7.6 has solved most unicode character problems, but as it is a beta it can be to buggy sometimes for other reasons.. -- Mnyb
