[SlimDevices: Touch] Audioengine A5 powering Touch

2011-06-24 Thread Dontz
If I get a pair of Audioengine 5 and use the USB power out on top of the speaker to power the touch what happens when the speakers go into auto-standby mode after 15mins of silence? I wouldn't like to reboot the touch every time I want to use it. Is the USB power still supplied in standby mode?

I guess he intends to make a converter cable with an USB plug in one end and a Touch compatible coaxial power plug in the other end. Which could be a nice idea, provided that the A5 outputs cleaner power than the original Touch PSU. I remain skeptical, at least until I know more about the A5.

Thanks, I should have thought of that. It makes a lot more sense to me now. I'm also skeptical about any audible differences, but at least one of the many forum members who has A5s (I'm not one of them) could probably answer the question about whether or not the dedicated USB charger still gets

The share is read write from windows or linux, so it must be how the share is mounted on the Mac. Unfortunately I know nothing about Macs so I can't give specific help. John S. -- JohnSwenson JohnSwenson's Profile:
