I just found out this could be done in Windows, Win 7 anyway...
If you rename a folder/file and put dots at the beginning & end the
trailing dot is removed. So .whatever. ends up as .whatever

No, it has never been an issue before 761

Hi there,
While the nettop makes its way to my end of the world, I decided to
check on the forum and to let you know what improvements I managed to
achieve so far.
Thanks Mnyb for your interest. As you said I "should be able to manage
with one good quality router". The Touch was supposed to work
Sure. You can rename all the directories you want hidden so that they
begin with a dot. For example, hide your "photos" directory by renaming
it ".photos". That's the standard way to hide a directory in *nix, and
it keeps the TinySBS scanner from looking there.

I'm not getting the "nil" part of the problem, and indeed all now seems
to be running fine. I say seems. The Touch is new to me, so I don't
know whether a few Menu quirks are bugs / faults, or just that I
haven't got it set up quite correctly yet. Mine seemed to be an Initial
Setup problem - tha
Just in case anyone looks at the OP, the initial issue (failue of 7.6 to
keep a connection to mysb.com and then being unable to reconnect to it)
is exactly the same issue as the 'nil by ear' thread:

OK. Well other than the 'capacity' issue (which together with some duff
programming in the 7.6 software is, I am sure, the problem), I've tried
both the other solutions.
The issue remains exactly the same.
The only workaround for me (and because of the way I don't leave my SBS

I think this is related to the 'nil by ear' thread.
I can replicate your issue (and its solution) on my touch.
When my touch loses connection to MYSB (which I *think* is a capacity
issue at Logi EU West datacentre), it renames itself as 'nil'.
At that point, I cannot connect to MYSB.com and get o

Is there a way to hide a directory on a USB hard drive connected
directly to the touch? For example can I do something like add a file
.nomedia in it? Or simply remove all permission from that directory?
(or create a second partition and use that?)
(It just seems a waste having these terabyte dr
USB yes Spotify No afaik .
The older generation squeezeboxes needs a a local server that can use
triodes third party spotify plug in to work.
Touch and Radio can have Spotify without a local server .

Yes, you can have the Boom stream music from the Touch. At present the
"replacement" for the SB Boom is the SB Radio. It is not known whether
or not there is a "Boom 2" in the works. Personally, I doubt it.

I am currently using my Touch with either a usb hard drive as music
source or connected to the internet and Spotify. Great set-up! I am now
considering buying a Boom and to stream music from the Touch to the
Boom (usb or Spotify). Is this possible or do I need to have them both
