Why is album art in that menu? It's not on mine.
Yeah, it's picking up pics that the server found including Album art.
They should add a folder in there for such pics art, not just list
them in with the clocks etc...
Probably should add two folders, one each for

Probably should add two folders, one each for separating general pics
album art.
Might also be
It is picking up my pics using just an SD card and TinySC.

I don't understand why album covers would be made an option for
screensavers only after media scanning was implemented in 7.7. Album
covers have always been scanned, so could have been made available
previously. I can't say that I see any use for it, but this seems odd.

FYI, I added fragment size and mmap to my asound.conf file with the
Music Fidelity VLink. No more clicks or pops...at least for the last
hour. I also think the sound improvedtry it and report back.
pcm.usbdac {
type hw;
card VLink;
}
pcm.plugusb {
type plug;
slave.pcm usbdac;
}
ctl.plugusb
I've been running the Touch in stand alone mode since launch and not had
any major issues apart from software releases.
Stand alone mode
Pros - cost
Convenience
Power consumption
Same sound quality as running server setup
Cons - Doesn't fully support Sounchecks mods
Doesn't fully support
Standalone = no plugins at all
Higher resolution (beyond 24/96) is because the Touch's built in server
cannot transcode at all, including higher resolution to lower
resolution.
Addl cons:
slow scans
can't turn off unnecessary scans (turn of HDD)

I would never ever consider to run in plugin mode. That's an awful
downgrade compared to run hw mode.
I'm pretty sure that the poor usb controller plus drivers are making
problems.
If I wanted to go the USB route I'd either get myself a MAC mini with
Pure Music on it or a slim Linux

rt-installation on a small computer such as FitPc (I still have one
around. Nowadays it's much too expensive though) Quite some
and a web interface and much snapier reaction on pad and phone apps .
the web Ui can be nice to acess from any PC in the house .
and playlist bigger than 100 tracks ( more makes the Touch go belly up
).
And ofloading it the server duties would make a difference and also
faster to add new tracks
As long as you run a separate server, yes it does. :)

you are right, not impressed with inbuilt server, however using my ipad
with ipeng and a separate server I am a very happy bunny. I will keep
this I think and move on my duet. I only have a small apartment so only
have use for one or the other.

Definitely keep it...you will LOVE it once you learn about all of its
functionality and some idiosyncrasies. It is an awesome system. Ask a
lot of questions on this board and don't get frustratedlearn it!
It's GREAT! After the Touch, Ipeng is your next good choice. And by the
way, you might
