Hi. First time i've had to use the forum so hope someone can help.
I have had some problems recently when I tried to scan in new music to
the Squeezebox Touch. It just wouldn't see any new songs. I just
downloaded a new update and after completion it began a complete
re-scan automatically. Things
ok, just trying to find a way to work around this shutting down issue :(

I don't think there is anything consistently different. For example I
just downloaded 3 different mp3 albums from Amazon and 2 play fine but
one doesn't (but it plays on the SB3). The other week I was loading a
bunch of Christmas music onto the server for my wife, and about half of
them wouldn't p

No. WOL doesn't do anything to a computer that is already awake.
It is possible to send scripts to the computer to turn LMS on or off,
or restart it. In fact,
interesting info, I wonder if I turn the WOL on will it restart the LMS,
if the comp is already running? x

Thanks for the confirmation -- that's exactly the logic that I recall
being the case.

What have you needed it for up until now? I

ok, but what else do you possibly have that
Thank you, I will try this. However, turning off WOL completely doesnt
really sound like the best solution. What if I need WOL for something
else? Ideally I would prefer to make the squeezebox stop sending the

I registered on camelcamelcamel.com and got duly notified today so went
in and ordered a touch at 135. Great service. Amazon.uk had 5
remaining at 4.30 today. Recommend this service if you want one at the
low price. Waiting for the radio deal now..

Not really.
If the stream is transcoded (which you can see by looking at the bit
rate field in the contextual information menu for the track being
played

I use my own server exclusively, and never connect to mysqueezebox.com
voluntarily. However, on the rare occasion that my server doesn't start
normally, but my Internet connection still works, my Touch automatically
connects to mysqueezebox.com. This wouldn't be so bad, if it weren't for
the fact

oh! this is new to me.

The first thing you need to do is see if there is anything different
about those files. Are they a different file type than your other
files? Do they have embedded artwork and the others don't? Is there
something strange in the tags? Also check things like sample rates, bit
depths etc.
The Touch
Got one this time :) :) this one is going to be used as a benchmark
against the mods I make on the first one.

For a lot of computers, the WOL settings are in the BIOS, which you have
to access before the operating system boots -- the boot-up screen
usually tells you what magic key combination you need to get to the
BIOS menu. Apparently with Windows 7 you can control WOL settings via
the Power Management

I just got my SB touch for Christmas and I am super happy about it!

my PC is turned off, somehow the SB manages to make my PC turn it self

Bumping this thread since I am also interested in controlling my Marantz
SR6003 receiver from my Touch.
I have managed to communicate with the receiver using a USB-Serial
cable (Profilic) connected to the touch via SSH. I can send commands
using "echo > /dev/ttyUSB0" and the receiver does what I
When you next navigate to "switch to MySqueezeBox.com", press & hold
that item, select "Add to Home Menu".
It won't solve your network issues (NAS & Touch can't see each other)
but it will make switching to MySB a lot easier until you get your
network fixed. ;)

If you mean hacking into the Touch and messing with it's firmware code
and/or hardware modifications for better audio quality, try the
Audiophile forum here. Lots of customization ideas there.
Just keep in mind you run the risk of possibly voiding your Touch's
warranty with such mods.

Finally recieved my SBT, and I am very pleased with it, but reading a
few of the threads on here I see a few people have pimped their SBT`s ,
my question is what benefits are there in pimping the SBT, what can be
done and how easy is it to do? Thanks

I am new to the Touch so forgive if this a question that has been
covered before.
I have a folder in my library which when browsed in the Albums section
is listed as "No Album by Various Artists" and no art is displayed.
When I play the tracks the album art displays OK in the Now Playing
section.
