Another interesting thing the Touch will do, is send a WOL (wake up on
lan) signal to the mac address of the server. The mac is a layer2
address which is set physically on the network hardware by the
manufacturer. No IP addresses (Layer3) are required for this
communication.

SB players will do this fine, assuming it is setup correctly on the

My Duet sometimes behaves erratically - e.g. needs several attempts to
connect to music library (USB HD attached to Win7 netbook, running LMS

to taint the overall test results? Example: If someone reads this

OK, I was trying not to over complicate things and so my statement is
misleading. Pretty much everything can use names (DNS, WINS NetBios
etc)
In the url you posted http://frank:9000, frank would be resolved as
the actual ip address of the server named. In order for network
communication to take

Hi - It turns out that there was an issue with the IRBlaster Plugin (it
was cutting off commands greater than 32 bits, mine was 48 bits).
the developer kindly and promptly addressed it and IRBlaster 6.2.1 is
now available and it works with my Denon conf file!

I'll check mine at home later but it does sound odd!
For the WOL, you need to make sure the LMS machine is set to use WOL in
its bios you'd obviously also need the power connected :-)

Would I have access to full TinyLMS functions via Controller ?
Tiny would just be another server so controller would connect fine .
But if you are accustomed to the full server version you better keep
that running.
Tiny has many limitations ( there is a wiki
I have TT3.0 installed on my SBT.
Will I need to restore the factory settings to do this test?
I hope the tt -r (restoring SBT to factory settings) is enough.
