Okay, now I understand what you want. This is certainly possible, but I
have to look closely at the design. Two things that I want to focus
on:
- The settings should easy to use, even for the casual user
- It's a patch, so I do not want to rewrite the existing file too much,
only add stuff.

I want to build a music system consisting of SBT and active speakers
and want to have everything controlled remotely - the problem is the
speakers do not have IR power on/off control or trigger input.
Is there any way to get the SBT to trigger the speakers on/off? e.g.
1) by output signal
1) sounds pretty straight-forward, if the hardware is already available.
2) is unfeasible, for the reason you suggest.
3) doesn't necessarily require an IR remote. You can probably use
IRBlaster from the Touch. I think that would be pretty elegant.

I have a SB Touch and am very pleased. There is one issue for me that I
can't seem to resolve.
Since I installed the SB Touch, I have made a number of changes to my
Library, including re-ripping some of my favorite CDs. In a prior,

I like the Automatic brightness control too. I think the brightness
should be at full bright when the radio or touch is being navigated via
remote/touch screen/buttons.

I think the touch has 2 years warranty. You don't need to have proof of
purchase for the warranty. Call support and provide them the PID
(product ID), they can tell if it still under warranty. They normally
send you a new one instead try to fix it.
