Setting up WOL:
On some PC's You first have to enable this in the BIOS. On my HP DV7
laptop it was enabled by default so I didn't have to go through this
step. Perhaps it's the same for You.
Then You have to make a small settings change in Windows 7.
Please remember that not all PC/BIOS support

I have a pretty large MP3 collection (66000 files) and just bought a
Touch.
It doesn't work with Touch TinySBS and USB attached HDD - crashes or
too long response time to commands. (I learned that it exceeds the
comfort zone on USB HDD at about 10 000 files)
I put successfully LMS on my DNS-323
Vortexbox appliance. 70,000 mostly flac. Lightning fast.

sorry for not making clear, this thread is about ZyXEL NSA310, that's
the NAS i was enquiring about speed.
i have SBT connected to hdd via usb. the UI is quite slow. i would like
to know if there's a significant increase in UI speed when connected to
ZyXEL NSA310 (1.2ghz, 256mb) with LMS/squeezes
Yes, but if you use too many at once, and/or too long stretches of
cable, sound quality may suffer.
By the way, this is a limitation of the way analog line level signals
work in general, not the Squeezebox system specifically.

That really depends on the specs of the NAS, and I'm not familiar with
the model you have. What is the CPU, and how

Note you don't need a DAC - any amplifier that supports two sets of
speakers will work. Just connect the analogue out of the SB to the amp
- you need to have speakers in both listening rooms (obviously!).
Probably a good way to start - although within weeks you will have
realised how much fun it

yes. One setup I have is a small stereo system fed by a TOUCH. On the
speaker side
Touch has three audio outs, all of which play simultaneously. Coax
digital, optical digital, L/R analog. But Touch is not an amp so
whatever speakers you wish to use must receive amplified audio. These
could be self powered speakers with their own internal amps (like the
aforementioned AudioEng

I've looked at the new version of LMS yet. Possibly the new version
changed something, so that the patch cannot be applied properly. I'll
update my system to 7.7.2 tonight, and fix the patch if needed

Hi Reg66,
I dont think you read the posts fully. What I said is that I did not
see any significant difference between using SBT with a wired, wireless
or direct wired connection to the nsa310.
Regarding your latest question - I think the £35 deal probably will not
give you the squeezebox server.
