I've posted a new applet to the 3rd party apps list for Squeezebox
Touch. This is designed to enhance the digital output capabilities of
the device for use with external Dacs. It is based on the software
which people have helped me test on the "Async USB Dac Experiments"
thread but should now be
I am STILL having this problem. SB Touch playlists begin to show
"Empty" a day or two after the most recent SBS database scan. I have
never found an Empty playlist immediately after a scan, but a day or two
later more and more Empty playlists begin to appear (I have been using

Not familiar with the psu you built however it could be a lot of things
causing a change. If the new psu is unable to provide the current
needed then it could be dropping out of regulation. This would cause
pretty significant issues. Without testing the too supplies though it
is anyone's guess.
Hi Triode,
I found an old powered hub in my electronics graveyard and now the CDQ
plays high bitrate files without pops, just to let you know. What I
would like to know is whether there are any advantages if I go with the
hub even though I only need 44.1/48 support. Would really appreciate

What is the 'Kernel Idle Option' meant to do?
I understand that it is intended to prevent the Touch CPU from idling

The fact that you are using a Mac and not Windows is not significant.
This is not to criticize but the address you wrote in your post

Hi Triode,
it works flawlessly with my CDQ. I did a firmware update, installed it
and tried it with both Coax and USB. Coax plays my 96kHz test files
perfectly, USB works great with the no-hub workaround and Red Book

I have added the new applet to the main 3rd party list so people should
see it without needing to add the special repositories defined on the

I'll start a new thread to discuss the new applet without the confusion
