I can't offer any meaningful advice, I can only say that I too have been
unable to play low sample rate MP3s on a Pi running
Squeezelite/Max2Play.
I have so few of them and am not particularly attached to any of them,
so I have never put any real work into figuring out what's going on.

My Touch with IR trouble is wired.

I used to worry about that as well...then the Wandboard and Community
Squeeze came along.

Depends on what you're trying to do. If I didn't need Quicken and
didn't strongly prefer CoolEdit2000 over Audacity, I probably wouldn't
need Windows at all.

I guess most of us with Touches have seen the situation where sometimes
the display doesn't properly update and stays one track behind, but I've
recently had situations where that issue coincided with losing gapless
playback. I was playing live albums, so the less-than-a-second gaps

I keep a Touch on my desk at work and swap out 32 gig SD cards every few
weeks. I notice the same symptom. It's random, but sometimes once it
starts the only fix is to pull the power plug and start from scratch.
It's a bit like losing gapless playback, only as you note it doesn't
actually occur

Worked like a charm, thank you!
go with Radio David Byrne and iTunes vs. Roku Soundbridge
behavior. I no longer use the latter two and just deal with the lack
of titles for RDB.

That's not yet fully workable (long story), but that's something I do
need to do eventually.

It looks like Bug 7502 is already there for the voting. Thank you
making me look, it never even occurred to me!

Am I nuts for wishing that setting a static IP could be as simple as

27;ve just noticed while testing that ALAC files are *always* bigger than
FLAC. I assume SqueezeCenter is telling you the bitrate of the ALAC
file, transcoding it to FLAC, then reporting the bitrate of the FLAC.
