You inspired me to find a workaround, it was heartwarming to see how

The OP, Tim, could also try resetting the SBT (I forgot this in my other
reply :o:o)
Remove the SBT power plug from the power socket.
Press in the small button on the back of the SBT (just above the power
inlet) and plug the SBT power back on

I read through the thread and wondered if it's as simple as the touch
being connected to TinyLMS (or LMS, but it's not clear if that is
running anywhere?)? "My favorites are missing" is often a connection to
the wrong server
on the touch: settings->advanced->networking->switch to
mysqueezebox.co
