There is a 7.8 firmware for the touch. I don't know if it's official or
not but it works great for me, in conjunction with the 7.8 server.

could someone please,in layman's terms, explain how i can update my
squeezebox touch to the latest version 7.9 software.my touch only shows
a current 7.7.3 version installed available.
There's no 7.9 software for the Touch.
There is a LMS 7.9 version, but it can't be installed on the Touch.

You may want to move to powerplugs to get Ethernet over power lines to
your touch. Can work very well.
Or if the router and Touch are really only 10 feet apart, just go with
plain Ethernet over cat5e cable. Even if one needs to take circuitous
route between the two it is probably

a minimum this should be done as a temporary test to see if that

Nothing else running on the NAS? Any NAS changes or updates? Tried
clearing the LMS Cache folder? Tried rebooting NAS?

If you disable native that makes the server transcode the files to WAV
on the fly this uses some cpu and the old DUO cpu can't cope with this

Imo there is little values

Then the ReadyNAS is probably the culprit, but to confirm, you could try

Also, as a final go at the ReadyNas I changed the server settings from
the Soundcheck ToolBox 3 settings and under the FLAC file type set FLAC

Yes , it is the ReadyNas Duo (about 18 months ago).

I suspect that is the problem rather than the network. As I assume you
are having zero issues with regular 16/44.1 FLAC files. When you say
you've done a factory reset of the TOUCH to remove the TT3.0 stuff, I
assume you've

Interesting. I've used the Settings Manager for player settings
sharing between Boom and SB3/Classic, but I assumed such settings could
not be shared between older and newer players.

Just received my radio in addition to touch and boom. Where on the touch
to i get squeezebox.com settings ?
I can't remember which email address i used !
Is there an automatic way to force the radio to pick up the existing

Go to www.MySqueezeBox.com, login, start entering possible emails. :)
On both Touch Boom you can see which email is being used for MySB.com
registration.
Boom Settings Information Player
No, your Radio must be setup by itself, independent of the other
players.

Are you using the Touch's built-in server (TinySBS) or an external SBS
running on a pc or NAS? If the latter, then you should be able to find
the email address in the SBS web ui under Settings mysqueezebox.com.
For cloning settings across players you can look at peterw's
SettingsManager plugin
Sorted thanks, got it from the Boom.
So far the Radio is a impressive, little unit.
Using the touch in stand alone mode.
