It's a feature (actually bad design) in some DAC's. They really
shouldn't do it. Unfortunately the only solution is to change DAC's.

You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it
ain't what you'd call minimal...
Touch(wired/W7)+Teddy Pardo PSU - Audiolense
Most DACs I ever had did pop in that way.
As my Transporter does this too I would not call it bad design. :)

It's only the really old fw that have that other behaviour ( constant

Yes, only when changing sample rates.

Thanks.
Didn't notice that happening with the Duet (which would go from 44 to
48) before.
Guess I just have to be careful with the volume knob then.

What firmware are you running? There was a bug a while back that caused
the sample rate to go to 44.1 when changing sample rates, so going from
88.2 to 96 would go to 44.1 first. But this has been fixed for quite
some time.

I tend to agree with Mnybit's likely the dac. Mine does
this--always has no matter what's running in the Touch or LMS (I knew
this was a feature when I purchased the dac). Oddly, it doesn't do
it 100% of the time when changing sample rates, and for me it's more of
a modest little static

I just got my SBT installed, running its coaxial into my DAC. I notice
that whenever I change tracks of different sampling rate (e.g. 96/24
then 44/16, or vice versa) there is a pop sound (sounding like a
highish frequency static sound). I have no idea if it would harm my
system, but at the very
