I have tried the Paragon software on my Ubuntu box, and it does give
full read+write access to Journaled HFS+ formatted drives. However I
can currently only access it as root, and unmounting as non-root from
the desktop can corrupt the entire HFS volume beyond repair. So I think
it needs more
I just came across software from Paragon-Software - HFS+ and NTFS for
Linux
http://www.paragon-software.com/home/ntfs-linux-per/download.html
This something Logitech can take a look at implementing in its Tiny
embedded linux on the Squeezebot Touch
WIth this Macintosh users can create one
The Squeeze OS is running on an embedded Linux system and Linux can
mount a HFS+ journaled disk. The disk needs to unmounted properly from
OS X, so the journal is empty, and then on the Linux side of the
equation, the mount has to be forced, so it can be both read and write
and not read-only.
I'm guessing that the touch does not support plain old HFS+ (let alone
the journaled variety) at this point in time. I know that linux support
for Read+Write on HFS+ is not the greatest, so I understand this.
Nevertheless, how hard will it be to get the Touch to mount an HFS+
Journaled USB
No, HFS is not supported due to the lack of RW support for journaled
mode.
