I attempted unity 8 because after upstart I have no launcher ,
hud or anything else but nlank screen. I gained access to the system by
creating anew folder, in the center of my screen, using nautilus. Then I
went to /usr/share/applications to use the system.

Thanks Marius, but the issue is getting the backport request supported
for 12.04. No problems installing 12.04 on non-pae systems - however I
believe it is the last currently supported platform that works on
non-pae systems. Hence the backport request to address modem manager

Tested procedure in 'Note 4' in the description and the display denial

Where SCOPE_ID is the short name, e.g. com.ubuntu.scopes.youtube_youtube
(without the version number).
We need read only access to that path.

2. Setup pin lock in system settings
3. Enter two events for the same time, soon, in your google calendar
4. Have your phone sync your google calendar using system settings - accounts
5. Lock
I don't think this is a Unity bug at this time, but I'll leave it in the
Triaged state just in case. Adding xserver-xorg-video-intel since this
is where I think the problem is.

Well, it fixes it for me ( i manually edited
/usr/share/themes/Ambiance/gtk-3.0/gtk-widgets.css and changed theme and
it started to work).
