Looking at the bluez code, this is actually the expected behaviour.
Currently bluez only supports one modem, as there's not really a good
way to support HSP with multiple modems (which modem should it use when
pressing the call button?).

version of ca-certificates, the connection is fine. I don't know how
backports are done in Ubuntu, since I work primarily in Debian and just
